Valentine Wedding

I was asked to photograph's this couple wedding reception, and before the festivities began I was able to get a few shots with the bride and groom.  In these photos it was mostly cloudy with the sun getting ready to set and was already obstructed by the trees in the background.  I chose to use an off camera flash to light their faces so there wouldn't be any harsh shadows.

Sugar is Sweet

This beautiful girl had just turned five-months-old.  These photos were taken in their home with natural morning light streaming through the windows.

Merry Christmas

Can you believe it wasn't raining on us in December!  This day turned out to be a cloudy day.  Again I was hoping for the sun to break through the clouds a little bit to back light this family, but it never came.  I chose to use a fill flash to brighten the family's faces so they wouldn't be cast in shadow.

Leaves Are Falling

I had the opportunity of photographing this family during a prime time of autumn.  Leaves were still on the trees as long as all over the ground.  The weather forecast predicted for a partly sunny day, but as things turned out it was a foggy day in the PNW.  The fog created its own soft backdrop, but it also settled all around us making it impossible to use any lighting.
